Works are being carried out in Logan North until April 2012 as part of Allconnex Water’s program to ensure a high-quality, reliable and resilient water supply.
A planned approach has been developed to comprehensively clean reservoirs and pipes in the area. Water is currently being transferred between different reservoirs in southern Redlands and Logan North to allow for this cleaning and maintenance. A range of temporary and permanent infrastructure has also been constructed as part of this project.
Customers in Logan North may notice some temporary changes to the taste, odour or appearance of the water during the project’s implementation. This is because water is coming from different sources and different treatments are being used.
Regular monitoring and sampling of the water is being carried out during this time to ensure water continues to meet the high standards of the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
As part of this project some water from the Brisbane area was temporarily diverted to the southern Redlands area during December 2011 and January 2012. This phase of the project is now complete and customers in the southern Redlands area are now receiving water from their usual source on North Stradbroke Island.
