Logan - trade waste and waste transporter approvals

If trade waste is likely to be generated on your premises, you must apply to Allconnex Water for a  Trade Waste Approval (48kb).

The application must be lodged by the property owner (or their authorised agent) and the operator generating the trade waste. Applications should be lodged before trading begins, and must be accompanied by the application fee.

It is appropriate to lodge an application:

  • when a building application is being processed for a new building.
  • when an application is being processed to extend an existing building intended for industrial or commercial usage.
  • when a tenancy changes.
  • when ownership changes.
  • during the fit-out stage.
  • when an application to strata title premises is being processed.
  • before generating trade waste at existing premises without a Trade Waste Approval.
  • where a change in process technology occurs that affects trade waste.

Applications for Trade Waste Approvals should include details of the method of treatment proposed to ensure the trade waste meets the sewer admission limits. It's important you provide all information required in your application. Without it, application processing will be delayed.

All plumbing and drainage work associated with installing any treatment process should be in accordance with the:

The plumbing and drainage work must be carried out by a licensed plumber and drainer.

Where Allconnex Water considers the waste unsuitable for discharge to the sewer, it will not issue a Trade Waste Approval and you will have to make alternative arrangements to dispose of the waste.
