The following conditions apply for the supply and distribution of water for domestic, construction or any other purposes.
Bulk water metered standpipe users
The conditions of the permit listed below are not a comprehensive list of Allconnex Water’s requirements and shall be read in conjunction with the Water Act 2000, the Water Supply (Safety and Reliability Act) 2008 and, Domestic Water Carrier requirements. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure they are aware of all the state and local policies relating to water carriers and they comply with those policies. Copies are available from Allconnex Water on request.
- Metered standpipe applicants must have a registered ABN Number.
- No metered standpipe shall be issued until the application has been approved and confirmation to the applicant has been received.
- Metered standpipes shall only be fitted to hydrants at the locations designated by Allconnex Water’s authorised Officers.
- Water shall not, under any circumstances, be drawn from Allconnex Water’s Reticulation System by any means other than the metered standpipe.
- Water shall not be allowed to run to waste (overflow).
- The filling point shall be left in a tidy state, which includes the replacement of the hydrant lid after each fill, and leaking hydrants shall immediately be reported to Allconnex Water.
- The metered standpipe and hoses shall be kept in good condition and free from any leaks.
- In the case of filling water vessels, filling shall be carried out from the roadside of the hydrant. The water truck shall be parked on the roadway where kerb and channel is constructed, and for rural areas the truck shall be parked on the road shoulder. Under no circumstances shall trucks be parked on the footpath area.
- All meter failures or suspected failures shall be reported to the Allconnex Water’s authorised officer immediately.
- Water carriers utilising water tankers for drawing water from nominated reticulated water delivery points shall be issued with a Allconnex Water reference sticker. The reference sticker shall be prominently displayed.
- The trading name and telephone number of the water carrier must be prominently displayed on the vessel in letters not less than 75 mm in height.
- Metered standpipes shall be presented for reading in accordance with the Allconnex Water’s requirements. The standpipe holder shall verify the reading and sign the reading form.
- Fees and charges shall be as stated in the permit and shall be subject to review each financial year.
- Any damage or loss to the metered standpipe and or the Allconnex Water’s installations will be charged to the standpipe holder.
Domestic water carriers
- Water supplied for domestic purposes must be obtained form an approved filling station.
- Water for domestic purposes must conform to the World Health Organisation 1994 guidelines and/or the National Health and Medical Research Council guidelines for drinking water quality.
- A domestic water distribution vessel must not be used to convey liquid other than water suitable for domestic purposes.
- Domestic delivery vessels must have current registered health inspection certificate with a local authority
- All vessels must have current registered backflow prevention in accordance with Australian Standard AS3500 Part 1 Section 4 1992.
- Pumping equipment must be so fitted as to prevent the pump being used for drawing liquids.
- Delivery hoses must be capped in such a manner as to prevent contamination of couplings and hose interiors when hoses are not in use.
- The exterior surface of the domestic water supply vehicle must be kept in a clean condition with clear signage.
- The domestic water carrier, when requested to do so, must submit the water-carrying vehicle for inspection. At the time of inspection the water vessel must be filled to contain fifty percent of its total water capacity.
- The domestic water carrier must take reasonable but adequate measures to prevent contamination of source of supply, distribution vessel and receptacle into which the water is being transferred. Where directed by the local government the domestic water carrier shall conform to the local government’s requirements on cross connection control and backflow prevention.
- Water for domestic purposes must not be obtained from roadside hydrant points.
- Distributors shall keep a logbook of all water distributed for domestic purposes and of all water drawn from nominated reticulated water delivery points in accordance with the Food Act.
- Readings shall be collected on a one monthly basis and forwarded to Revenue Services for processing.
Domestic filling station locations
Northern Gold Coast district
- N1 - Wuraga Road, Beenleigh (at the water reservoir).
- N2 - Christensen Road (southern end) and temporary site.
- N3 - Ormeau Ridge Road and Peachey Road (adjacent to tennis court).
- N4 - Tamborine Oxenford Road, Oxenford (front of cricket club).
- N5 - Oxenford Tamborine Road, Upper Coomera (Left hand side at top of hill past Reserve Road).
- N6 - Beattie Road, Coomera (200 metres on left hand side of Road).
- N7 - Maudsland Road, Maudsland (Opposite Tuxedo Junction).
- N8 - Waterford – temporary site (Story Park adjacent to hotel).
- N9 - Bannockburn Rd – temporary site (15 metres left hand side).
Southern Gold Coast district
- S11 - Worongary Road, Worongary (between Harry Mills Drive and Brixton Court).
- S12 - Hardys Road, Mudgeeraba (Opposite Glenmore Drive).
- S13 - Springbrook Road, Mudgeeraba (pump station opposite caravan park).
- S14 - Tallebudgera Connection Road, Andrews (opposite Coplics Golf Course South of creek).
- S16 - Currumbin Creek Road, Currumbin Valley (between Tallebudgera Connection Road and Durobby Drive.
- S17 - Yarrimbah Drive Nerang (Clear Water Estate) adjacent to pony club.
- S18 - Tallebudgera Connection Road, Andrews (opposite Coplics Golf Course North of creek).
Water carriers in general
- Water supplied for carriers not required to have a health licence can be obtained from approved filling stations (except for hazardous chemicals or recycled water carrying vessels) or a roadside hydrant not within residential area and nominated points only for large vessels, also companies must observe and apply with the water level restrictions at all times.
- The exterior surface of the domestic water supply vehicle must be kept in a clean condition with clear signage.
- All vessels must have current registered backflow prevention in accordance with Australian Standard AS3500 Part 1 section 4 1992.
- Distributors shall keep a logbook of all water distributed from reticulated water delivery points in accordance with the approval to have a metered standpipe.
Water users in general
- General water users that do not use a water vessel can use roadside hydrants that do not interfere or impede with any residential property.
- Must observe and apply with the water level restrictions at all times.
- Must use a backflow device from machinery etc if required too.
- Shall keep a logbook of all daily water use in accordance with the approval to have a metered standpipe.
Vessels carrying poisons or any other contaminated mixtures must not fill from domestic filling stations.
Readings shall be collected on a one, three or six monthly basis and forwarded to Revenue Services for processing.
