Allconnex Water has a comprehensive monitoring program to ensure our customers receive the best quality water. Water is sampled and tested regularly at different locations across Allconnex Water networks to ensure drinking water meets the regulated Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.

Allconnex Water laboratory staff regularly test water for microbiological, physical and chemical quality at Allconnex Water’s laboratories located in the Gold Coast, Logan and Redland districts.

All testing is conducted in accordance with internationally or nationally recognised test methods (USEPA, APHA, Australian Standards, EPA).

Additionally, our laboratories monitor other products including recycled water and biosolids produced from our treatment plants. This involves analysing substances defined by the Department of Environment and Resource Management as potential pollutants.

Over the past few years we have increased our commitment to quality management by participating in a variety of schemes ranging from in-house proficiency testing programs to national collaborative studies.

Investigating environmental incidents

An increasing interest in environmental matters has seen the laboratory develop expertise in issues relating to water, trade waste and wastewater.

Our staff have the expertise to plan and conduct investigations into environmental incidents involving the release of chemicals, fuels and other pollutants into aquatic environments.

Gold Coast

Allconnex Water's Scientific Services (for the Gold Coast district) is located within the Smart Water Research Centre at Southport. This centre coordinates a consortium of research, industry, government, commercialisation and analytical testing agencies and forms a centre of excellence for water research and associated services.

Logan

The Logan District Laboratory is located at the Loganholme Pollution Control Centre. The Laboratory performs most chemical and microbiological testing and operates a sampling and testing service for drinking water throughout the Logan district water supply network.

The Laboratory also provides services to external customers including testing water samples from water tanks, bores and specialised process samples. For more information on the services provided by the Logan District Laboratory call 1300 000 928.
