Closure of National Rainwater and Greywater initiative – household rebates
On 10 May 2011, the Federal Government announced that it will no longer provide rebates for rainwater tanks or greywater systems under the National Rainwater and Greywater Initiative.
Purchases on or before 10 May 2011
The rebate will be available to households who made a purchase on or before 10 May 2011. Rebate applications need to be submitted by 10 November 2011 to be entitled to the rebate.
This initiative provided rebates of up to $500 for households to install rainwater tanks or greywater systems for either:
- The purchase and installation of a new rainwater tank, which is connected for internal reuse of the water for toilet and/or laundry use
- The purchase and installation of a permanent greywater treatment system
